Socktoberfest 2006!!!

25 09 2006

Allrighty. I’ll be knitting my 1st pair of socks for Socktoberfest. Here’s my cast on…ok it’s my 3rd cast on  . I’m about ready to pull my hair out with this double-pointed-needle-kitting-in-the-round business. If I finish this project, then I will officially consider myself a “real” knitter.

I’m knitting the Cable footies in the One Skein Book. Hope they turn out ok (crosses fingers).

And here’s what Maggie Mae has been up to:

…that’s what “keeping Daddy’s chair warm” looks like. She’s waiting for him to get home from work…yes you should pitty her.

The Purse

17 09 2006

So I finished my purse. This was a pretty quick knit – easy for beginners I thought. The only thing was the pattern kinda left you hangin’ in some spots. I had to figure things out for myself at times, but it all turned ok after felting. Felting is pretty forgiving!

And here’s the pic:

Maggie Mae made a nice place to prop the purse up against. You can almost see her rolling her eyes. I think my next project will be the pair of socks from the One Skein book. That should be an adventure.

We have a purse…sort of

29 08 2006

Here’s my progress on my knitted purse. It looks pretty good compared to the smallish rectangle I had the other day. However, I wouldn’t carry around my wallet in it…yet. ha! Man, it’s gonna be CUTE after felting. I’ve decided that this will be my official winter purse! I believe that I will have enough yarn left over to make a matching coin purse. YAY! Yarn!

Also, here’s Maggie Mae with the emerging purse:

She looks overjoyed that I’m taking YET ANOTHER PICTURE of her. I think she’s more mad that I disturbed her nap by shoving my WIP under her chin. After the picture she totally rolled all over the purse. Doggie fur makes it warmer!

Pathophysiology puts me to sleep too!

16 07 2006

Maggie Mae is using my nursing textbook as a pillow. At least someone is getting some use out of it…haha

Eric and Maggie mae hung out with me last night while I made this card.

Here theyare in the rocking chair:

Maggie’s favorite spot is on her Daddy’s lap.

Here’s the birthday girl.

12 06 2006

It's Maggie Mae's birthday. She's 3 years old today.

Does this look like a puppy that had a good birthday?

The answer is no!

eBay Helper

4 06 2006

I was listing some items on eBay this afternoon, and I had a tiny little helper.

^ Can you spot her? (p.s. my Sony camera already sold)

Since the new catalog will be debuting soon I seriously need some stamp funds. Check out my items on eBay. I cleaned out my Stamp/Scraproom…sorry no Stampin' Up! stuff. I don't want to get in trouble by violating the demo rules about selling on eBay!

My first REAL digital scrapbook page!

27 05 2006

WOW! I just created my first REAL digiscrap page.

^It's not spectacular, but I did create it on PhotoShop Elements 3.0. I was testing out my awesome new resizing skills. I guess it is more of a photo collage than a scrapbook page, but I am on my way…
I have been doing the lessons on The Scrapper's Guide to Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. If you've been thinking about digital scrapbooking this is SOOOO worth the $$. I've learned more in the last hour about the organizer, resizing and layers than I ever could clicking around in PSE myself. I will definitely be getting Volume II. ***** FIVE stars from me!

You Know What This Means!

25 05 2006

Here's what came from amazon yesterday:

^That's what $200 worth of nursing books look like. They were they same price on amazon.com as what our bookstore had, BUT it was cheaper to pay for shipping than tax here in good 'ole TN. That's right our sales tax is 9.75%. YIKES! Everyone's like "But at least we don't have an income tax." (Here comes the soapbox…watch out!) Yeah, no income tax means that it costs the same for me (a poor college student) to live one year as it does the guy down the street making major $$. Sooooo not fair!!!! (ok I'm off the soapbox)

To lighten the mood…here's a picture of Maggie Mae!

Maggie Says, "Please forgive my mommy for pushing her political beliefs on you. May I please have a bone? I definitely deserve it!"

A Dog Blog

24 05 2006

I took some photos of Maggie Mae yesterday. She was hanging out with E while he cleaned the interior of his truck.

^An excellent pic of her doggie tongue.

^She looks kind of noble here. Don't you think?

^Playing peek-a-boo through the back window.

^E gave me this bunch of weeds flowers. I thought it was sweet and pretty.

I moved!

22 05 2006

I was blogging at Yahoo 360°. I moved here so I could create some categories and other neat things (like customized lists and layout). For my first order of business I will post a pic of my dog

^Meet Maggie Mae. She is an important part of my life. Check out her Dogster Page. Leave her a bone while you're there.
