My Stampin’ Up! Mug Shot

28 09 2006

Here’s me modeling my new Stampin’ Up! apron, which I EARNED through great rewards!

Also check out the new ‘do.

My workshop was a success tonight. I had 5 ladies and one talented kiddo stamping with me. I booked a workshop and sold several catalogs. Not too shabby.

Workshop Items

27 09 2006

Here are some items I am taking to my workshop tomorrow night. Everything used is Stampin’ Up!

The hostess thank you gift:

You might remember this card from my card swap a while back. I made tons extra of this card just ‘cuz, and decided to use it for the Thank you gift. Go to the original post to see supplies used.

I’m demonstrating how to cut and mount a stamp and I’m giving the stamp I use for the demo as the guest door prize. Here’s the little 2-4-6-8 box I plan on using for the stamp:

  • Stamp Set: Bodacious Bouquet
  • Ink: Pretty in Pink, Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke
  • Card Stock: Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Hole Punch, Stampin’ Up! Ribbons
  • Technique: 2-4-6-8 Box (Intermediate)
  • Check out Amy’s Blog for an awesome 2-4-6-8 Box Tutorial!

There will be a lot of new stampers at this workshop, so I’m keeping my projects simple! Here’s the SUPER quick and easy card we are doing as a make ‘n take:

  • Stamp Sets: All Year Cheer, Hot Dot Wheel
  • Ink: Orchid Opulence
  • Card Stock: Certainly Celery, Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Stampin’ Around Handle, Spring Bouquet Punch

You’ll also remember that we will be making a Post-It note holder as well at this workshop.

Update tomorrow on how the workshop goes!

Socktoberfest 2006!!!

25 09 2006

Allrighty. I’ll be knitting my 1st pair of socks for Socktoberfest. Here’s my cast on…ok it’s my 3rd cast on :oops: . I’m about ready to pull my hair out with this double-pointed-needle-kitting-in-the-round business. If I finish this project, then I will officially consider myself a “real” knitter.

I’m knitting the Cable footies in the One Skein Book. Hope they turn out ok (crosses fingers).

And here’s what Maggie Mae has been up to:

…that’s what “keeping Daddy’s chair warm” looks like. She’s waiting for him to get home from work…yes you should pitty her.

Post-It Note Holder

23 09 2006

Here is a post-it note holder we will be making for an upcoming workshop. It’s personalized, that’s why it’s got an “M” on it. This is a really cool project to make in mass quantities because you can cut 3 bases from 1 sheet of card stock. I also used this same design for holding my SIL’s gift card I got her for her B-day. All supplies are Stampin’ Up!

  • Stamp Sets: Bodacious Bouquet, Letterpress Alpha, Paisley Background
  • Ink: Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Pretty in Pink
  • Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla
  • Accessories: Spring Bouquet Punch, Word Window Punch, Corner Rounder, Wide Organdy Ribbon
  • Technique: Rock ‘n Roll (Beginner)

I really don’t cook…

22 09 2006

BUT look what I made tonight for dinner!

It’s Chicken Breast Stuffed with Goast Cheese and Basil. Find the recipe here. It has an awesome mushroom sauce. I put some orzo pasta on the side (it’s great with the mushroom sauce too.) I think the next time I make it I will add some sundried tomatoes to the stuffing part.

And for dessert:

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with Grasshopper cookies and Cool Whip. Delicious and refreshing! Also, I stuck a hershey’s chocolate stick in for a garnish…WHOA! Watch out, I’m getting all cook-y.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, I’ve changed my theme again. This will be permanent because I’ve been begging WordPress to add this theme. Don’t you just love the colors and design!
I BAKED it!
18 09 2006
Can you believe it? I totally baked some bread!!!! I am so proud of myself that I took a picture. Check it out:
Mmmmmm….it’s sourdough. Tasty!!!!
Also did some stamping for SIL b-day:
  • Stamp Sets: Warm Regards, Paisley
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip
  • Card Stock: Close to Cocoa, Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red
  • Accessories: Spring Bouquet Punch, Large Oval Punch
This card is totally quick and easy, but I used a layout that’s a no-fail.
The Purse
17 09 2006
So I finished my purse. This was a pretty quick knit – easy for beginners I thought. The only thing was the pattern kinda left you hangin’ in some spots. I had to figure things out for myself at times, but it all turned ok after felting. Felting is pretty forgiving!
And here’s the pic:
Maggie Mae made a nice place to prop the purse up against. You can almost see her rolling her eyes. I think my next project will be the pair of socks from the One Skein book. That should be an adventure.
Still Flying
16 09 2006
I’m still doing the FlyLady thing. I did some Hot Spot management last night as part of my resolution to get to cleaning.
One of the main hot spots in my house the the bill paying area right beside our stove in the kitchen. It’s mostly a catchall for junk mail and E’s little papers (you know receipts and junk from work). I even cleaned out the little letter organizer thingy I got to put all the paid and unpaid bills in. (Hey there’s not even an unpaid bill in there for once…YAY!)
Here’s the before:
  • 2 spray can bottles
  • 1 blue tie
  • my knitted purse
  • a sack with stuff from the S’book store
  • misc. pieces of paper trash
  • my pink maincure bag
  • overflowing bill caddy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

the after:

and NO I didn’t just push it over to the counter on the other side of the stove. I actually (ok hold on) PUT THE STUFF AWAY….WHERE IT BELONGS!!!!! Look how organized everything is.

BTW I’m still keeping my sink and bathrooms clean. and I have another (bigger :( ) hotspot to work on tomorrow.
