More Wedding Programs

31 07 2006

Remember the wedding programs I made a while back? Well I was asked to make some more for another wedding. I was asked to do the exact same design except with Mellow Moss instead of that light blue color. Here’s the result:

Stampin’ Up! retired the wide silver organdy ribbon so I used ivory instead. It looks nice, but I’m not feelin’ the silver with the green so much. So here’s another version I made using a color combo I like better.

I did away with the silver and used Always Artichoke for the matting and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Also the filigree is stamped with Versamark instead of silver. I think this is a softer more elegant feel with the green than the silver.

Do you have a preference? leave me a comment.

Stampin’ Up! supplies used for both:

  • Stamp Sets: Letterpress alphabet, Everday Flex Phrases (&), Retired Sell-a-bration set
  • Ink: Versamark, Encore Silver
  • Card Stock: Mellow Moss, Brushed Silver, Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke
  • Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Ivory Wide Organdy Ribbon, 1/16″ hole punch

Neat! I used my digital scrapbooking stuff to make a birthday card. I printed it out onto photo paper! Check it out.

We have a knit scarf!

27 07 2006

Here’s my finished knit scarf I started last week sometime. It’s really skinny and long. I just knitted until I ran out of yarn. Of course it’s not very practical in 96 degree heat! I think I will wear it around the house in the AC for a while to “break it in!”

We’ll also let this serve as the “before” picture, as I am getting a haircut next week. Stay tuned…

Yay! New Stamps!

Waiting Game

20 07 2006

I am anxiously awaiting my Stampin’ Up! new catalog order. In an effort to occupy my mind while waiting on my goodies I started knitting a scarf.

I’m using handspun wool from TwirlGirl. It’s one of a kind custom dyed wool. It’s SOOOOOOO pretty. It’s a rainbow of color – so my style. It’s a skinny single cable asymmetrical scarf from the One Skein book.

Here’s the wool:

(almost done with my scarf BTW)

and a close up of the cabley goodness:

Some cross stitch

15 07 2006

I cross stitch occasionally. Not a lot though because it takes so long and I get frustrated easily. I got one of those little $2 kits at WM. You know – the ones that come with the cheap plastic frame? Well I tossed the frame and put my cross stitch on a card. All supplies are Stampin’ Up! except the cross stitch of course.
