We interrupt this blog to bring you something completely uninteresting…

29 05 2006

This is an uninteresting post about my links category. WordPress.com requires me to have a links category in order to have a links section on my sidebar. This is the actual post you will see when you click on that category so that an ERROR page doesn't pop up. If you want to see my links then look on my side bar under the header "Links."

Man that was freakin' boring!

My first REAL digital scrapbook page!

27 05 2006

WOW! I just created my first REAL digiscrap page.

^It's not spectacular, but I did create it on PhotoShop Elements 3.0. I was testing out my awesome new resizing skills. I guess it is more of a photo collage than a scrapbook page, but I am on my way…
I have been doing the lessons on The Scrapper's Guide to Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. If you've been thinking about digital scrapbooking this is SOOOO worth the $$. I've learned more in the last hour about the organizer, resizing and layers than I ever could clicking around in PSE myself. I will definitely be getting Volume II. ***** FIVE stars from me!

A Wedding Program

26 05 2006

Here is a wedding program that I designed for a friend’s wedding coming up in the next few weeks. Everything we used was Stampin’ Up! except for the blue cardstock.

  • Stamps: Letterpress Alphabet, Everyday Flex Phrases (&), A Retired Sell-A-Bration Set
  • Ink: Encore Silver, Versamark
  • Paper: Shimmer White, Brushed Silver, Blue is bulk cardstock from an office supply store
  • Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Wide Organdy Ribbon, small hole punch
  • Technique: heat embossing (easy)

We had to make 150. Here’s about half of them:

I know, I know. You’re like “What were you thinking?!?!” About 7 ladies assembled all these and 50 treat boxes in 5 hours. Whoa…don’t ever ask me to do it again…well maybe if you say please!

Please check out this site for instructions on how to heat emboss.

You Know What This Means!

25 05 2006

Here's what came from amazon yesterday:

^That's what $200 worth of nursing books look like. They were they same price on amazon.com as what our bookstore had, BUT it was cheaper to pay for shipping than tax here in good 'ole TN. That's right our sales tax is 9.75%. YIKES! Everyone's like "But at least we don't have an income tax." (Here comes the soapbox…watch out!) Yeah, no income tax means that it costs the same for me (a poor college student) to live one year as it does the guy down the street making major $$. Sooooo not fair!!!! (ok I'm off the soapbox)

To lighten the mood…here's a picture of Maggie Mae!

Maggie Says, "Please forgive my mommy for pushing her political beliefs on you. May I please have a bone? I definitely deserve it!"

A Dog Blog

24 05 2006

I took some photos of Maggie Mae yesterday. She was hanging out with E while he cleaned the interior of his truck.

^An excellent pic of her doggie tongue.

^She looks kind of noble here. Don't you think?

^Playing peek-a-boo through the back window.

^E gave me this bunch of weeds flowers. I thought it was sweet and pretty.

I moved!

22 05 2006

I was blogging at Yahoo 360°. I moved here so I could create some categories and other neat things (like customized lists and layout). For my first order of business I will post a pic of my dog

^Meet Maggie Mae. She is an important part of my life. Check out her Dogster Page. Leave her a bone while you're there.
